Former Sharon Hill fire chief accused of stealing from fire company

Sharon Hill, Pa. (WTXF) - A former fire chief in Delaware County is facing numerous theft charges after investigators say he stole from his own department.

Prosecutors say William Benecke--who used to work for the Sharon Hill Fire Company--made unauthorized cash withdrawals and bank card charges. According to prosecutors, he stole more than $4,300.

The 51-year-old is out on bail. He's due in court later this month.
