Holiday in a week, but Welcome America events already underway

Lots of folks will have extra days off over the next week and thousands of tourists will be heading into town for the long holiday weekend coming up.

July 4, Independence Day, is next Monday and the annual Welcome America festivities in our nation's birthplace have already begun. Read on for information about *3* nights of fireworks and a whole lot more!

Monday, June 27:

9am-7pm: Free Museum Day at the Ben Franklin Museum, 317 Chestnut St.

2-3pm: Our Flag Unfurled Mural dedication, 500 N. Columbus Blvd.

7-8:30pm: The Science Behind Pixar, 200 6th St.

8:30-10:30pm: Free movie screening, Finding Nemo at Franklin Square, 200 6th St.

Tuesday, June 28:

Free Museum Day, Museum Without Walls outdoor sculpture audio program, various tours

5-8pm: Free movie screening, The Good Dinosaur at XFINITY Live!, 1100 Pattison Avenue

7:30-9:30pm: Advanced movie screening of The Legend of Tarzan for people who already won tickets, Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, 300 S. Broad St.

Wednesday, June 29:

6:25-7:30am: Go 4th and work out like Rocky, Steps of Philadelphia Museum of Art, 2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway

10am-5pm: Free Museum Day at the Rodin Museum, 21st St. & Benjamin Franklin Parkway

2-4pm: Go 4th and Read, citywide reading at all Free Libraries

7-11pm: Free movie screening, Rocky on the steps of Philadelphia Museum of Art, 2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway

Thursday, June 30:

9am-8pm: Free Museum Day at the National Constitution Center, 525 Arch St.

10-11am: Presidential Convention History, 1848-2016, Philadelphia International Airport Terminal A-East for ticketed passengers only.

12-1pm: Wawa Hoagie Day, more than 5 tons of free hoagies, Independence Mall, 1 N. Independence Mall W.

5-7pm: Go 4th and learn about music and culture, Mummers Museum free all day, 1100 S. 2nd St.

7-11pm: Free movie screening, Creed, Tuslin Recreation Center, 5901 W. Columbia Ave.

8-10pm: free Mummer summer concert, Mummers Museum, 1100 S. 2nd St.

9-11pm: Free movie screening, National Treasure, Penn's Landing.

Friday, July 1:
