Home broken into, dog shot and killed
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A DeKalb County couple wants to know who broke into their home and killed their dog.
The Bruces say May 6 marks two years since they rescued their beloved dog, Toby. Monday morning was the last time they saw him alive.
"My wife comes home from work and evidently, during the day while we were away, someone broke into the home ransacked the place and killed our dog," says Mark Bruce.
Cathy Bruce told FOX 5's Kerry Charles, she got home and notice the back door was open. She immediately knew something was wrong.
"I started yelling Toby's name and I just ran down the hall," says Mrs. Bruce. "He was already, he was dead. He was already stiff."
A DeKalb County Police officer responded to the house. The officer noted in his report, he found eight shell casings scattered throughout the house. Two bullets struck Toby. One hit him in the neck, the other in his ribs.
The couple told police some electronics were stolen.
Anyone with information about this case should call the DeKalb County Police Department.
