Homeless man killed by gunfire in Coatesville

COATESVILLE (WTXF) - Police in Coatesville are investigating the shooting death of a homeless man that happened Friday morning.

The incident occurred at 6:05 a.m. on the 600 block of Diamond Alley in Coatesville.

According to police, there was a 911 call for shots fired and officers responded to the scene.

They discovered a man on the ground behind a residence, deceased from gunshot wounds. He has been identified as a homeless man from Pottstown who occasionally resides in Coatesville shelters.

His identity will be released after notification of family members.

Coatesville Police and Chester County Detectives are investigating.
