Kevin Hart's birthday, and Kevin Hart Day in Philadelphia

It's going to be a big day for one of Philadelphia's most recognizable and beloved natives -- not just his birthday, but July 6, 2017 will be known as Kevin Hart Day in the City of Philadelphia.

That's right. The man who has been the headliner for years on the stage, on screen and almost everywhere, now has his own day in the City of Brotherly Love.

City Council approved Councilman David Oh's resolution.

A free public celebration led by Councilman David Oh and Mural Arts Philadelphia will take place with a family fun event and mural dedication at Max's Steaks at 3653 Germantown Avenue.

The event -- with food, games, art activities, and music -- begins at 10:30 a.m., with a speaking program starting at noon.

Hart was raised in North Philadelphia near the intersection of 15th Street and Erie Avenue.

He lived in a one-bedroom apartment with his mother and older brother, but comedy resonated with Kevin Hart at a young age -- and luckily, he decided to give stand-up comedy a try.
