Kids inspired by their friend's battle with cancer set up a lemonade stand to raise money for cancer
BROOMFIELD, CO - A group of young kids in Colorado, inspired by their friend's battle with cancer, set up a lemonade stand to raise money for cancer research for kids.
A wish to give is rare -- a wish of helping others when you yourself are going through so much…
Here in Broomfield, 9-year old Marlee Pack and company are helping to beat childhood cancer with a lot of energy, cups of lemonade and dozens of bows.
"It's been hard but my friends have supported me through all of it," Marlee said.
"Because she fought through chemo, 42 weeks of chemo, so that inspired me," one of the children said.
Inspired by Marlee`s yearlong battle with a rare soft tissue cancer, Marlee and friends are raising thousands of dollars for underfunded children`s cancer research.
"I hope that one day they will have a lot of money," Marlee said.
So that someday kids like Marlee don't have to make a wish at all
Just this past Thursday, Marlee got the news she`s officially in remission.
All of the money being raised for Team Marlee will go to the St. Baldrick`s foundation to support childhood cancer research.
