Kiernan Clark honored by Sixers after spending a month in the hospital
PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - Before wrapping up their regular season, the Philadelphia 76ers honored a South Jersey boy as their "Strong Kid of the Game."
Kiernan Clark has already undergone more than 40 surgeries by age 9, as he battles complications from Hirschsprung's disease. Kiernan was diagnosed with Hirschsprung's disease at just two days old.
FOX 29 first shared Kiernan's story last month, when his father, Kevin, started a campaign to put a smile on his son's face for his ninth birthday.
Kevin launched a campaign on Facebook to request birthday cards for Kiernan. The cards came by the thousands and came from around the world.

When asked what the cards meant to him, Kiernan said it best.
"I felt shocked. I went into tears of joy," Kiernan said, "I read all the stuff that complete strangers say about me. I love that everyone is doing this."
After spending a month in the hospital, Kiernan was finally able to go home last Friday.
Wednesday night, Kiernan walked out to center court at the Wells Fargo Center alongside his favorite Sixer, JJ Redick.
Kiernan was honored as the "Strong Kid of the Game."
Thursday morning, Kiernan and his family appeared on Good Day Philadelphia to talk more about the kindness he was shown by strangers, and by a number of Philadelphia sports teams.
