Know Your Emergency Routes in Philadelphia
WTXF - According to the Philadelphia Streets Department, residents are required to clear a path at least 36 inches wide on their sidewalk, within six hours of the end of a snowfall or freezing rain. Residents are also told not to shovel or sweep the snow into the street.
To report a sidewalk that has not been cleared, call the Streets Department Customer Affairs Unit at 215-686-5560.
The city, as of Thursday morning, has not yet declared a snow emergency. But in the event of one, residents are advised to know their emergency routes.
