Lifeguard springs into action and saves a young girl from drowning

STORYFUL - A lifeguard in Spring, Texas, is being hailed a hero after saving a young girl from drowning.

The lifeguard on duty, Charlie Miller, rushed into the pool after a young girl started to struggle as she entered the water from a pool slide.

Harris County WCID #110 Parks & Recreation shared the rescue footage showing Miller running to the water to save the girl.

"The little girl went active immediately after water entry from the slide and Charlie took immediate action to pull her to safety," the post said.

The department said Miller had already been awarded "Lifeguard of the Week" and his actions only solidified the honor.
