Man accused of attempted murder turns himself in

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - A man police wanted for attempted murder has turned himself in to authorities.

Prosecutors are charging 24-year-old Jovuan Patterson with attempted murder, aggravated assault and other related charges.

They say he shot a man with an AK-47 at 54th and Spruce Street on May 5th after that man fought back when Patterson attempted to rob him.

Police say the victim was shot in his leg and after multiple surgeries is expected to recover.

Detectives were finally able to talk with him recently, which led to progress in finding the suspect. Police say they are still trying to recover the AK-47.
