Man accused of luring teen walking in rain, inappropriately touching her

Police in Winslow Township, New Jersey have arrested and charged a man after they say he attempted to lure two teenage girls on Tuesday afternoon.

Jesus Baez Sr., 52, has been charged with criminal sexual conduct, criminal attempted luring, and other related charges.

On Tuesday, August 14 police say Baez saw a 17-year-old girl walking in the rain and approached her in his car. He then asked her if she needed a ride, and she initially declined. Baez allegedly persisted until the girl got into the car,

Once she was inside police say Baez locked the doors and began touching her inappropriately as he was driving around. Baez later slowed the vehicle and started to pull over to the side of the road, when the teen ran from the car and called police.

A short time later, Baez saw another girl, just 16-years-old walking in the area. He attempted to give her a ride as well, but police say she continued to walk away from his repeated requests as he drove next to her. The 16-year-old saw police in the area and told them what had happened.

Police later found Baez and his car in Sicklerville, New Jersey and took him into custody.

Police have released photos of Baez and a car similar to his tan 2001 Nissan Maxima that he was operating at the time of the incidents. Anyone who may have had similar contact with Baez is asked to call police.
