Man asks for water, robs store by threatening employee with stabbing

Surveillance video has been released from a robbery at a Kensington store last Thursday, June 29, and the robber is still out there.

Philadelphia police say a man "entered a commercial store located on the 2400 block of Memphis Street and asked for a cup of water. When the employee, a 20 year-old female, turned around, the suspect walked behind the counter and threatened the employee, 'If you come near me, I will stab you.'"

The employee opened the register and the robber took an undisclosed amount of money.

Then, he ran away and was last seen east on Hagert Street.

No injuries reported during this incident.

The suspect is described as in his 30s with a thin build and tattoos on his hands. He was wearing a black hat, black t-shirt, and dark shorts.
