Man charged in Chester post office robbery
CHESTER, Pa. (WTXF) - Authorities say a man has been arrested and charged in connection with a robbery at the Chester post office.
According to authorities, Charles Sampson has been charged with Attempted Robbery of a Post Office via Complaint and Warrant. He is in Federal custody and his , initial appearance/detention hearing will be Monday at 1:30 p.m.
Police say the suspect was armed with a handgun when he allegedly struck the post office at 400 Edgemont Avenue. It happened last Wednesday, Nov. 30, at about 12:49pm.
Authorities say he approached the counter, pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded cash. No one was hurt.
