Man charged with holiday lawn decoration thefts, heroin conspiracy
EVESHAM TOWNSHIP, N.J. (WTXF) - A string of holiday lawn decoration thefts may have just come to an end.
The Evesham Police Department reports that at noon Thursday, officers arrested Donald Thorne of Marlton.
They say a patrol officer broke the case by speaking with neighbors. That information helped detectives identify a suspect. Then Wednesday, authorities got an arrest warrant for Thorne.
The spree of thefts started Nov. 26 and continued into the first week of December.
The most common type of lawn decoration to be stolen were inflatables police say "were sold to unknown locations in Camden County."
Thorne, 27, is charged with six counts of theft. He's also charged with conspiracy to commit possession of heroin with intent to distribute. Police say that stemmed from an Oct. 27 overdose investigation.
Thorne is being held in the Burlington County Jail in lieu of $40,500 bail.
