Man dies after hit-and-run in North Philadelphia

Philadelphia police are on the hunt for a hit-and-run driver who left a man to die in the street.

Police say shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, a man was struck by a vehicle on the 2200 block of Allegheny Avenue near Tulip Street.

Investigators confirm the man suffered severe injuries to his head and body and was pronounced at the scene.

Police have not yet identified the 31-year-old victim, whose shoe was reportedly found a block away, indicating that the vehicle may have dragged the show after making impact.

Police say they're confident with the evidence they have they will find the driver but are urging the person involved to come forward.
