Man Gunned Down While Riding Bike in North Philadelphia

Police in Philadelphia are investigating a shooting after a man was gunned down while riding a bike in North Philadelphia.

The incident occurred along the 2500 block of West Clearfield Street not long after midnight Thursday.

Officers found the 21-year-old victim on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the back.

The victim was was riding a bike when he was shot, but later ditched the bike and attempted to run away. He eventually collapsed.

Officers transported him to Temple University Hospital where he later died.

Police say at least seven shots were fired, also striking two parked cars.

Witnesses say the shooter fled the scene in a burgundy minivan.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
