Man hurt after grabbing gun in drive thru robbery

A 57-year-old man is in the hospital after Philadelphia Police say he was shot during a robbery attempt in a Fern Rock drive thru late Monday night.

The shooting occurred near Broad and West Champlost Avenue around 11:30 a.m.

Police say the victim was driving through a Wendy's Drive Thru and waiting for his food when a suspect put a gun through his window and demanded money.

That's when the victim handed over $7 and grabbed the barrel of the gun, causing the suspect to fire, hitting the victim in the hand.

The suspect ran off, and remains at large.

Investigators say they are not sure if the gun was real, or a pellet or airsoft gun.
