Man indicted on charges of stabbing wife to death on driveway

PLUMSTED TOWNSHIP, NJ (WTXF) - A New Jersey man has been indicted for first-degree murder and other charges after his wife was found stabbed to death on their driveway.

The killing happened last August.

Officials at New Egypt High School in Plumsted Township, Ocean County, heard about a domestic dispute and called 911.

Authorities found the body of Arthur Haskoor's wife Susanne outside their home. On the front door, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, was a note "telling police that there are guns in the house and that the occupant would kill them."

One of the couple's sons told police his father had at least six weapons in the home.

Eventually, after Haskoor barricaded himself inside, police sent a camera-equipped robot in and it found Haskoor in the garage, unresponsive, with "serious, but non-life threatening self-inflicted injuries."

Haskoor, 57, is charged with first-degree murder, possession of a weapon (knife) for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Prosecutors say he faces 30 years to life on the murder count and is in the Ocean County Jail on $1 million bail without a ten percent option.

Arthur and Susanne Haskoor had been married for 20 years with two sons, ages 17 and 18.
