Man on street shot 3 times in stomach, killed

A 22-year-old man is dead after he was shot several times on a North Philadelphia street, overnight.

Police say at 11:30 p.m., they "responded to the 2400 block of N. Garnet Street for a report of a shooting."

That's when they found the victim -- shot three times in the stomach area -- being taken to the hospital by private vehicle, but he was pronounced dead soon after.

Police say they learned he'd been approached by the gunman who showed a gun and shot, before getting way in an unknown direction.

The gunman is described as a man wearing a white t-shirt and camouflage shorts, and had a black bandanna over his face.

Investigators say they're hoping surveillance video from the area will help them identify the shooter.

Right now, there is no motive and have been no arrests.
