Man shot to death, police suspect attempted robbery

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Police are looking for the person responsible for shooting and killing a man in Southwest Philadelphia overnight.

They say it happened shortly after 1am on 60th and Allman streets.

The victim was shot multiple times in his chest and was rushed to the hospital, where he died.

Investigators say they know he was a 49-year-old man and think the motive for his death was an attempted robbery.

So far, no arrests have been made.

Just nine blocks and 15 minutes earlier, a man was shot and killed while sitting in a car, apparently targeted.
