Manayunk Meals and More serve holiday meals for those in need

MANAYUNK (WTXF) - Restaurants in Manayunk want to make sure people in need have a decent meal this holiday season.

Manayunk Meals and More, a partnership of about 13 restaurants, gathered Sunday to prep, assemble and deliver holiday meals to those in need. The meals consist of what some consider a traditional Christmas dinner, including turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, salad and dessert.

Manayunk Meals and More began about 25 years ago, as a result of a restauranteur who wanted to give back to the community. It has grown to include 13 restaurants.

Each year, the group tries to serve more meals than the year before. 2017 saw meals delivered for 750 people. 2018 the goal was met at 1,000 meals.
