Memorial Day observances across the region honor the fallen

This Memorial Day, communities across the region are paying tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice serving their country.

Ceremonies and parades are being held throughout the day.

Media, Pa. kicked off its Memorial Day Parade Monday morning, with guest speaker Barbara Selletti, MS, honoring the contributions of Delaware County men and women who served in the military during World War I.

Doylestown marked the occasion with its 150th Annual Memorial Day Parade.

The Museum of the American Revolution is spending the day showcasing the lives of Revolutionary War sailors. The museum is also offering free admission for veterans, active and retired military.

The Battleship New Jersey conducted its own Memorial Day ceremony on the forecastle of the ship, casting a wreath upon the Delaware River to honor the fallen.

Members of the community, government officials and members of law enforcement shared how they chose to spend the occasion.
