CROWLEY, Texas - A North Texas mother proved she's willing to do anything to make her son happy when she dressed up as his dad to go to a father-son school breakfast.
Yevette Vasquez said she was dropping off her son, Elijah, at Sue Crouch Intermediate School one morning when she noticed the parking lot filled with more cars than usual. He explained it was 'Donuts with Dad' morning.
With Elijah's dad out of the picture, Yevette came up with a plan to make sure he wouldn't miss out on the fun.
The family rushed back home so Yevette could change into a plaid shirt, ball cap, chain, a mustache and finished it off with a spray of men's cologne.
"I know seeing other dads with their kids isn't easy for mine, but it's life," Yevette wrote on her Facebook with pictures of her 'dad' costume. "At least I can do whatever it takes to put a smile on that face."
Yvette said she was nervous about going to the school dressed as a man but is happy she did it. She said she's even more shocked by all the positive responses she's gotten since posting the pictures online.
