Mother, Son recovering from injuries following dispute in West Phila

PHILADELPHIA, PA (WTXF) - Police believe a family argument turned violent In West Philadelphia. They say a mother and teenage son are now recovering from injuries and police are pointing the finger at the woman's husband.

FOX 29's Joann Pileggi followed the developments and reported from Philadelphia Police headquarters.

Police from the 16th district say it started around 1:30 p.m. on the 800 black of Fallon Street. The incident quickly escalated and the woman was stabbed in the hand and leg.

The 13-year old was stabbed 3 times on both arms. Police arrived to scene moments after quickly trying to diffuse the situation.

Neighbors are upset, saying this shouldn't occur on Easter Sunday or anytime.

Police have arrested the male suspect and he remains in police custody. This is a developing story. We will have more information as it becomes available.
