Multiple overnight shootings, hit-and-runs in North Philly leave victims hospitalized

Four separate incidents in North Philadelphia on Friday night landed several people in the hospital.

A man in his forties is in critical condition after police say he was shot five times. The shooting happened on the 3000 block of North 8th Street around 11 p.m.

On the corner of North 27th and West Sargent Streets, police responded to another shooting which left a 23-year-old man shot in his lower abdomen. The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital. No word yet on his condition.

Another person is critically injured after a hit-and-run. Police responded to the scene at Tioga and 9th Streets around 2:30 a.m. The victim was transported to Temple University Hospital.

Another hit-and-run occurred at the intersection of Broad Street and Glenwood Avenue. Police say a man was taken to Temple University Hospital with unknown injuries. No arrests were made and no car was recovered in the incident.
