Mystery animal identified as hairless raccoon

At first glance, you might think it to be the mythical creature in folklore known as Chupacabra, but animal experts say it's actually just a hairless raccoon, possibly suffering from a genetic mutation or illness.

The animal was found under a car last week and has since been taken to the Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge in Orlando, Florida, where it is fighting to survive. Staff there have named the 6-pound raccoon "Dobby," because of its resemblance to an elf from in Harry Potter movies, according to the Orlando Senitnel.

Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge is collecting donations for the raccoon's treatment, which you can find here btnwildlife.org/donate.
