NJ man charged with child luring after police receive anonymous tips

A man has been charged after police in Cherry Hill investigated a suspicious incident that occurred last Wednesday.

According to a press release issued by Cherry Hill Police, two girls were at the Wawa located at 843 Cooper Landing Road at 5:20 p.m.

They reportedly noticed 56-year-old Brian M. Ayers watching them.

The girls were uncomfortable with his presence and waited for him to leave before they made their purchase.

Later, they were walking in the area of S. Lincoln and Garfield Avenue - one mile from the Wawa - when Ayers pulled alongside the curb and offered to give them a ride home.

Both girls were able to run away and told an adult. Ayers drove away.

Anonymous tips - one from a FOX 29 viewer - led to Ayers' identification and through continued investigation, police were able to develop probable cause to charge Ayers with second degree attempted child luring and third degree child endangerment.

Ayers was arrested without incident and taken to Camden County Jail on $80,000 bail which he has since posted.
