NJ state troopers give teens a ride to prom

According to a Facebook post shared by New Jersey State Police, two teens had car troubles on their way to prom in Ocean County. But they still made it.

On Friday May 6, students Edward Fengya and Reno D'Agostini left for the MATES-Ocean County Vocational Technical School Prom.

At approximately 5:24 P.M., they were driving south on the Garden State Parkway when their 2003 Lincoln Town car careened off the right side of the highway, struck a utility pole, and became disabled.

N.J. State Troopers Chris Jones and Charles Garrison responded to the scene of the crash. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported.

But prom was still set to start, and Fengya and D'Agostini were out of a ride.

The boys pulled up to their prom in a troop car and Trooper Jones joined them, asking their chaperone, "Hey, do these two belong to you?"

Principal Alison Carroll was able to snap a picture of Reno D'Agostini shaking Trooper Jones' hand upon their arrival.
