Nonprofit helps families transition from homeless shelters to fully-furnished homes

A new clip documents the steps that a Detroit-based nonprofit takes to help families transition from homeless shelters to homes by providing furnishing and design help.

The 3-minute clip was uploaded to the Ford Go Further YouTube page on October 12.

Decorators from nonprofit Humble Design meet with families to gauge their sense of style and then go to a warehouse filled with donated goods to find items they think will fit that particular family's tastes.

They then bring the furniture to the homes, paint the walls, make beds, hang artwork, and clean.

They make it so that, in the words of Humble Design's founder Treger Strarburg, "the family is left with a complete, functioning home."
