Northeast US, including Jersey shore, cast wary eye on Jose

(AP/WTXF) - Marinas, coastal residents and others in the Northeast are keeping a wary eye on Hurricane Jose as it spins in the Atlantic Ocean, threatening to menace the region by the middle of next week.

This includes communities along the Jersey shore. Forecasters say there is a moderate risk for dangerous rip currents along the coast on Friday and a moderate to high risk of their development on Saturday.

Forecasters also say there is an increasing likelihood of a period of rain, gusty winds and coastal flooding because Jose is expected to life northward offshore on Monday night through Tuesday.
