Barack Obama has started a heartwarming, uplifting trend on Twitter amid a lot of bad news in 2017.

The former president started a thread of Tweets all about good stories around the United States in the past year.

He even mentioned Eagles player Chris Long in one of the Tweets:

"Chris Long gave his paychecks from the first six games of the NFL season to fund scholarships in Charlottesville, VA. He wanted to do more, so he decided to give away an entire season's salary. That's a story from 2017."
