Officials: Child killed, another hurt after driver strikes tree in Burlington County
WILLINGBORO, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a single-car crash in southern New Jersey has left a child dead and another injured.
The crash in Willingboro occurred around 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Authorities say the children were in a vehicle that struck a tree. One child was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver and the other child were being treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
It's not yet known what caused the driver to lose control of the car. The names of the children and the driver have not been disclosed, and it's not known if any of the three were related.
The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office is investigating the accident.
