Officials: Police Officer Arrested For Murdering 2-Month-Old Son

Tennessee--(INSIDE EDITION)--A Tennessee police officer was arrested for allegedly murdering his infant son, law enforcement officials said.

Christopher Warren Page, an officer with the Paris Police Department, was arrested on Thursday and charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse for the death of his two-month-old son, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Baby Gunner Page suffered life-threatening injuries in his Puryear home on September 2, TBI officials said, noting TBI Special Agents began investigating the incident immediately at the request of 24th District Attorney General Matthew Stowe.

Five days later, the little boy succumbed to his injuries.

"During the course of the investigation, agents developed information leading to Page as the individual responsible for his son's death," the TBI said.

A spokesman for the Bureau would not divulge further information, noting that the case is still open and ongoing.

Devastated friends and family of baby Gunner took to social media to express their grief over the loss of the child.

"Praying for you and for justice for Gunner every day," one woman commented on a photo of the smiling boy. The words "Justice 4 Gunner" were included on the picture.

Page was incarcerated without bond in the Carroll County Jail on Thursday night. On Friday he was arraigned in Henry County Court, officials said.
