One arrested, one sought in fatal Yeadon hit-and-run
YEADON, Pa. (FOX 29) - Police say they have arrested one man and are searching for a second in connection to a fatal hit-and-run crash in Yeadon, Pa. earlier this month.
According to authorities, 22-year-old Khar Abdullah was behind the wheel of a speeding car that t-boned and killed 62-year-old Henry Tomah on Church Lane on April 16th.
The crash occurred when the drivers of two cars sped through a traffic light on the corner of Church Lane and Darnell Avenue. According to investigators, one of the drivers was sought earlier in the day for speeding, but officers were unable to catch up to him.
Police say the first vehicle made it through the intersection, but the second vehicle slammed into Tomah's car and pinned him against a telephone pole.
Tomah was removed from his car via Yeadon Firefighters and was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he died.
Investigators say Abdullah then hopped into an Infinity driven by his 24-year-old Tre Moore, and fled towards Philadelphia.
Police consider Moore a person of interest and spoke to him over the phone. Detectives' suspicion of Moore's involvement increased when Moore ditched a meeting he had scheduled with police about the incident.
Abdullah is facing homicide by vehicle charges.
