Pa. State Police: Amber Alert for girl, 2, was false alarm
BERWICK, Pa. (AP) - Pennsylvania State Police now say the Amber Alert for a 2-year-old girl you may have heard during the Super Bowl turned out to be a false alarm.
Alexis Weber's family reported she'd been abducted from their Berwick home about 7pm Sunday and her mother's car may have been stolen in the process.
But police say they found the girl was in the car, which somehow rolled down a driveway and into a wooded area. Police believe the girl's mother may have forgotten to put the vehicle in "park."
The Amber Alert was canceled early Monday.
The toddler was taken for a medical evaluation.
Berwick is in Columbia County, about 45 miles southwest of Scranton.
