Pa. teacher overcome with emotion as former student reveals she will be his kidney donor

George Labecki, a retired teacher in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was emotionally overcome when his appeal for a kidney donor was answered in a most unusual and surprising way.

Kathy Hubler Young shared photos and videos of the moment Lindsay Arnold Wenrich, a former student at Labecki's school, revealed to him that she was a match and would be donating one of her kidneys to him. In the video, Wenrich is seen doing the reveal with placards, and dressed up as Nittany Lion, the mascot for Pennsylvania State University, where Labecki studied.

"I was blessed to video Lindsay tell George as she was dressed in the Nittany Lion costume even though she is a huge OSU fan. She even brought him some homemade buckeyes," wrote Young.

Wenrich, who never had Labecki as a class teacher, came across his Facebook appeal for a donor.
Surgery for the pair is scheduled for October 26.
