Pedestrian crossing highway fatally struck by NJ Transit bus

A NJ Transit bus struck a pedestrian crossing the highway Saturday night.

According to police, the bus was traveling east on US 30 near Jimmie Leeds Road when it struck the 59-year-old male. The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police have not yet released the pedestrian's identity.

Police say the driver and passengers on the NJ Transit bus sustained no injuries.
