Person struck by Amtrak train in New Castle County, Del.
Wilmington, Del. (WTXF) - Officials say a person was struck by an Amtrak train in New Castle County, Del. Wednesday afternoon.
According to officials, Amtrak Train 1194 - the Northeast Regional service operating from Washington to Boston - struck a trespasser on the tracks south of Wilmington, Del. There were 519 passengers on board the train at the time. No injuries reported to any passengers or crew.
Service was temporarily suspended but has now resumed between Wilmington and Newark. Trains are operating at reduced speed using one of the three tracks in the area so customers can expect some congestion-related delays in both directions.
