Philadelphia police warn parents about attempted abductions
PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Police are warning parents in West Oak Lane and Strawberry Mansion to keep an eye on their sons. They say there's a man going around trying to abduct boys and showing them pornographic graphic material. In one case, he offered the boy money to expose himself, according to police.
"There's kids out here so we got to protect our kids at all times." That is why Shameeka Robinson,a mother of two boys, was shocked to hear a man is accused of trying to lure young men striking Thursday evening at Stenton and Haines in the West Oak Lane area. "I just hope the cops catch him real soon because he shouldn't be out in the streets doing stuff like that," she said.
Philadelphia police say on Thursday a man in a 2-door dark gray Nissan offered a victim 20 bucks to expose his genitals, and drove alongside the victim, repeating the perverted offer while raising the amount of cash.
The man got away, but police say he did something similar on the 6600 block of Stenton this past Monday. According to police, the man approached a victim asked for weed, then asked if he wanted to make some cash performing a sex act on him or the other way around. That's before he allegedly showed the victim porn.
Investigators have linked the suspect to a case back in May. The suspect was captured on video where a boy gets into a car only to be assaulted by the driver who then goes after the boy's younger brother.
