Philadelphia postal employees rally in opposition to White House privatization proposal

United States Postal Service employees rallied Monday to show opposition to a White House proposal to privatize the United States Postal Service.

Employees assembled in front of the Benjamin Franklin Post Office on Market Street in Philadelphia Monday morning in order to bring attention to the White House proposal.

USPS employees claim the White House plan, if implemented, will cause prices for postal services to increase and cause a drastic cutback of service for customers. They claim this would leave rural communities isolated, leave seniors stranded and disrupt the ability of many businesses to reach customers.

Local residents and members of various community groups joined the postal service employees in the rally.
