Police: 15-year-old shoots two with BB gun; leads police on pursuit

New Castle County Police say they have arrested a 15-year-old boy following two BB gun shootings and vehicle pursuit in the Marshallton Area.

Police were called to the Creeks at Marshallton Apartments for a female who had been shot by a BB gun around 8 a.m. Wednesday. According to police, they arrived on scene and learned that a suspect operating a black SUV had shot the female with a BB gun and then fled. Police were able to quickly identify the suspect.

Police were also alerted to another BB gun shooting that occurred in the community of English Creek II Wednesday around 8:30a.m. Police say during that incident a 10-year-old boy was riding his bike when the same suspect allegedly shot him with the BB gun.

Police were able to locate the suspect in his vehicle and attempted to stop him. According to police, the suspect fled from police and a vehicle pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, the suspect struck an uninvolved vehicle, authorities say. Police then discontinued the pursuit for public safety reasons since the suspect had been identified. Police were able to locate the teen at his home and he surrendered to police peacefully.

Police believe the black SUV to be stolen. All of the victims in this case were evaluated at the scene and did not require further medical treatment.

The suspect is awaiting formal charging and arraignment
