Police: 18-year-old shot and killed in Olney

OLNEY (FOX 29) - Police are investigating after an 18-year-old was shot and killed in Olney late Sunday night.

Officials say the victim was shot in the chest shortly before 11:30 p.m. on the 600 block of East Chew Street.

The victim was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounecd dead a short time later.

A suspect has been taken into custody.

An earlier version of this story erroneously identified the location of the alleged shooting as East Germantown. Police have since relayed a corrected address.
