Police arrest third teen suspect in NE Phila shooting

PHILADELPHIA, PA (WTXF) - Philadelphia Police have arrested three teenagers involved in a shooting behind a Catholic high school.

The shooting happened on the evening of Saturday, March 19. Officers responded to shots heard behind Archbishop Ryan High School at the baseball field at 10:37p.m.

Upon arrival officers found the 17-year-old male victim shot one time in the left leg; he was transported by Rescue to Aria Torresdale Hospital in stable condition.

Police say the victim informed investigator's that while with a group of friends hanging in the back woods of Archbishop Ryan H.S. two males walked up and approached the victim about buying some narcotics.

The victim didn't know the males and they exchanged hostel words with each other, according to police. The males walked away on the phone calling someone giving their location and standing by.

Officers say the victim stated that a few minutes later a third male approached with the other two males and pointed a black handgun at him making threats. A fight broke out where the three offenders attacked the victim. The gun was fired by the third male striking him once in the leg. The males fled on foot from the area.

While surveying the area after the incident, 8th District Uniform bike officers stopped two males fitting the description at 38XX Elmore Place.

On Sunday, March 20, 2016, after further investigation 16-year-old Jonathan Rojas from Camden, New Jersey, and 19-year-old Joshua Sanchez from Gloucester, New Jersey was arrested and charged with: Criminal Conspiracy, Aggravated Assault, Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act, and related offenses.

On Tuesday, March 22, 2016, the third male was arrested and identified as 18-year-old Charlie Rolon ; he was charged with: Criminal Conspiracy, Aggravated Assault, Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act and related offenses.
