Police: Body found in Bensalem was dumped after overdose, man charged
BENSALEM, PA (WTXF) - Authorities in Bensalem have filed charges against a man who they say abused the body of a woman that was discovered in Bensalem Tuesday morning.
Around 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Bensalem Police discovered the body of Stephanie Machen, 25, along Mill Road.
Investigators determined Machen, a Norristown resident, suffered an overdose inside a home on the 700 block of West Russel Street in Philadelphia.
Police say Erik Finnegan then drove Machen's body to Bensalem, dumping her in the location where she was found.
Finnegan was arrested and charged with abuse of a corpse.
Authorities say Finnegan confessed to his role in the incident, although the investigation is ongoing.
Finnegan was held in lieu of 10% of $10,000 bail.
