Police: Body found in Mercedes that fled cops in Southwest Philly
SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Police are investigating after they say a 30-year-old man was found beaten to death inside an SUV in Southwest Philadelphia on Sunday evening.
Around 6:30 p.m., officers on foot patrol near 67th Street and Buist Avenue observed a black Merdedez Benz SUV stopped a red light with a broken tail light. Police approached the vehicle, informed the driver of the broken tail light and instructed them to pull over before they fled the scene.
A short time later, police found the SUV on the 6600 block of Dicks Avenue with the body of a man inside.
Police identified the victim as 30-year-old Arnold Battle, of Elmwood. The identify of the SUV owner has yet to be disclosed.
This is an ongoing investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
