Police: Camden County Church Vandalized

LINDENWOLD, NJ (WTXF) Police are searching for vandals who struck at a church in Lindenwold, New Jersey. The parishioners can't believe someone would do this.

Police say on Wednesday, January 6th, Saint Lawrence Church at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Shrine in Lindenwold was vandalized. According to police, somewhere between 11:30 a.m. and noon, a person or persons entered the church and broke several exterior and interior stained glass windows. The vandal(s) also knocked over the church's paschal candle, the Papal flag and the cross on the altar, police say. The vandal or vandals also used glass votive candle holders located in the shrine area to smash the windows located in the sacristy and vestibule, according to investigators.

Father Joseph Capella says no money was taken from their poor boxes.

Overall damage is estimated to be in the thousands of dollars.
