Police: Carjackers push driver from moving ambulance in Logan

An ambulance driver was forced out of his moving vehicle Monday morning by two suspects in Logan, according to police.

Shortly before 3 a.m., the 32-year-old ambulance driver was in the back of his vehicle with the engine running. A struggle ensued with the alleged carjackers once the driver emerged from the back of the vehicle.

The worker then called 911 and his company. They began tracking the ambulance, which was driven about a mile before police stopped it on the 4800 block of N. 11th Street. The 42-year-old man driving it was taken into custody. Police believe the suspect was intoxicated.

The man who allegedly pushed the worker wasn't in the vehicle and remains at large.

The ambulance worker was treated at a hospital for a shoulder injury.
