Police chase ends in crash in West Goshen Township

Police in West Goshen Township have arrested and charged a man they say led them on a chase after a traffic stop early Wednesday morning.

Police say the pursuit came to an end when the suspect's vehicle crashed at Paoli Pike and Prospect Avenue after midnight.

According to police, the pursuit began following a traffic stop where the suspect allegedly gave false a name and date of birth to police and failed to produce a driver's license. Police pulled over the vehicle for expired registration.

Police have now identified the suspect as Joseph David Morrell, 32, of Honey Brook, Pennsylvania.

The chase ended with the suspect's vehicle colliding with patrol cars, and the driver was taken into custody and treated for minor injuries.

Officers later found Morell was wanted on outstanding criminal warrants in Chester County, Berks County, and Sebring, Florida.

Morell has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, fleeing or attempting to elude police, and related charges.
