Police Defeat 'Grinch' in Touching Video

Last night a thief broke into one of our citizen's vehicle and stole Christmas from three children. Over $300 worth of clothes, two tablets, and a laptop was stolen. The youngest of the girls is a special needs child. Morning Watch (3rd Shift) officers could not just stand by and take a police report. These awesome police officers teamed up to provide this family, out of their pocket, with a $300 gift card and a couple of dolls to help save Christmas for this family. I am proud to be a part of such a great team! You are truly called to make our city great. May God bless and protect you all. Please watch this video and see a glimpse of the special servants we have working for the Rome Police Department.

ROME, Ga. - More proof that Santa's helpers wear blue.

The Rome Police Department's morning shift came together to help a mother who was ripped off by a Grinch. A Facebook post on the department's page stated the thief got away with over $300 worth of clothes, two tablets, and a laptop was stolen.

The officers came together Thursday night to help bring Christmas back to the household after the theft. In an emotional video, the woman thanked the officers for their generosity.
