Police: Driver slammed into Bucks County home, took off
BENSALEM (WTXF) - Police are looking for the driver of a car that barreled through the wall of a house, narrowly missing the woman sleeping inside.
We captured the footage showing damage of the home. The incident happened around 5 a.m. Sunday. A man and his wife were sleep inside just feet away. Luckily, the couple was not hurt.
FOX 29's Brad Sattin spoke to the couple at their home. He says although they were not injured, the woman was in the hospital as a result of blood pressure issues stemming from the scene.
Barret Davis is counting his blessing after waking up to this.
"We could have been dead. By the grace of God we're still here. That's all that counts," he said.
Davis was asleep upstairs. His wife Dolly, just released from the hospital last week, was sleeping in a hospital bed downstairs when this car came barreling through the wall of their home around, and missed Dolly by about ten feet.
"I heard a boom, I came downstairs, and a car is sitting in my front room," Davis said. He says two men were in the car when it lost control.
Before slamming into the Davis' home, the car took out this garden shed across the street and went airborne.
The Rindani family was asleep in their home when they heard the noise.
"Everybody is sleeping and suddenly some big noise, really really big noise. I think. It's a thunderstorm,"Pushba Rinadi said.
It was no thunderstorm. They opened the window to see the car through their neighbor's house, then she says the driver ran off.
Barrett says his wife saw the same thing.
"He said call 911, I woke up. And I was in your house," Barret said.
The Davis's were in the process of renovating their home to sell it. This wasn't the renovation they had in mind. They lack a home now, but Barrett, not his perspective.
"Hey, life goes on." Barret said.
Police say the missing driver may have been impaired. If you have any information about this crime, please call Bensalem Police.
